Yes they are pinecones, and yes they are edible. 

I made this chocolate chiffon cake with Chantilly cream, and decorated it with pinecones, (made out of sliced  almonds) rosemary, silver dollar eucalyptus leaves, pomegranate, powdered sugar, and of course some edible glitter (although you can't really tell in these pictures). I enjoyed making this one so much and love every part about it, very cute and super tasty.

It's that time of the year, and here is my kind of winter wonderland cake. Chocolate chiffon cake with Chantilly cream dressed up with peppermint white chocolate barks looking like evergreens. Stay warm and Merry Christmas!

Make time for tea! Because I made some perfect tea time treats. These cubes are silky layers of peach yogurt mousse, blueberry cheese mousse and vanilla yogurt cake. Each layers are not overly sweet, yet still has the rich flavor and delicate scent of fresh fruits. Yes, they are. Especially during this time of the year, with abundance of great ingredients that are double times tastier, like root vegetables, apples, pumpkins, zucchinis, nuts and so much more. They make great breakfast, tea time treats, and snacks for kids. Muffins are always good.

WITCH way to the cookies!! 

It's already fall here in Rochester Hills, leaves are turning reds and oranges, and I see beautiful pumpkins and mums at farmers market. So I couldn't wait longer!
